Many couples choose to have a wedding ceremony that reflects a religious conviction, but regardless of what faith you choose there are certain things that you need to keep in mind when you are in a house of worship. There is certain etiquette to a church wedding that you and your guests should keep in mind so that your wedding goes off without a hitch.
Anymore, it is very common for people to have a collection of friends and family who all follow different religions or possibly no religion at all. Even more so, many brides and grooms share different faiths, thus guests may often find themselves confused at a wedding as to what to do. Thus, it is up to the bridal couple to make sure that all guests feel comfortable at the ceremony and that they understand what will happen throughout the affair.
The wedding invitations are a great place to start informing guests of the type of affair they will be attending by placing the house of worship on the invitation as the ceremony site and any other note about the ceremony. For example, Roman Catholics will want to specify if the wedding ceremony will be a full Mass with Communion or a Nuptial Mass.
If there will be wedding rituals that guests are unfamiliar with these should be included in the wedding programme to give them a heads up as well as possibly an explanation depending on the involvement they may have in the rituals.
