Couple delighted to be handed wedding rings

Organising nuptial celebrations is not cheap these days, particularly when couples are intent on having a big white weddings. Indeed, often people can spend more than a year’s combined net pay on such events. As well as the venues, entertainment, clothing, accommodation, transport, photography and so on, there are the wedding rings to purchase. Indeed, these diamond rings are one of the most important symbols of the occasion. These days, they are often chosen to complement engagement rings.

However, one pair have found out they will not have to raise a penny for their big day. According to reports in the Sun, bride-to-be Khrystal Barton and fiancé Ian Booker are to have their wedding sponsored by a number of companies.

The 27-year-old holiday lettings agent, who met her man four years ago through friends, managed to persuade the enterprises to pay for the wedding of her dreams after finding out that if she had to cover the costs herself, she would have to shell out £20,000.

In return for their contributions, the firms providing the cash and goods will be shown on a board that will detail what each company has stumped up. The organisations will then receive further endorsements on the wedding invites and in the speeches. In addition, there will be banners in the reception.

The wedding rings that have been earmarked for the occasion are together worth £1,100. It was not made clear whether or not they are diamond rings or whether they will match the couples’ engagement rings.

Commenting on the inspiration for the somewhat unusual approach towards her nuptial arrangements, Ms Barton revealed she came across the concept when she was doing research online concerning how to cut down the cost of the event. Apparently, the tactic is popular in the US.

She added: “When I came up with the idea, some people thought I was crazy. And some people might think it’s tacky to have adverts on your wedding day. But now I am going to have the wedding I never thought possible.”

The couple got engaged in April on the day of the Royal Wedding between William and Kate.

Commenting on the romantic gesture, she said: “Ian popped the question on bended knee at our local pub and of course I said yes.”

According to Ms Barton, while she and her other half could afford the ceremony and all its trimmings, they decided it was a lot of money to spend on one day.

Overall, she is pleased with the way the plans are progressing, she revealed, although there is a lot of strategising involved. She stated: “It’s hard work organising everything. For example we plan to include leaflets, plugging every company, to go out with the invites. I have also already agreed that, as well as providing advertising, I am going to volunteer for a few days for one company. But it’s a win-win situation – we are getting free or discounted services while the businesses get advertising.”

As more people catch on to such tactics, sponsored weddings may rise in popularity in the UK.

We can confirm that the Wedding Rings Provided by Smooch Wedding Rings are Diamond, also that they will match my engagement ring. We are still looking for a funding sponsor….??

Also there where some errors in what we are paying, our wedding is estimated to cost 24k and we still have around 13k to pay ourselves. Just for the record I never said “we could afford it” my actual comments were “It was abitiouse to assume we could afford it”. With the recession and the economy the way that it is, it would seem that a lot of companies are excited by this idea and are keen to embrace it.

I wanted our story to be inspirational, motivational and offer some hope. That even in today’s economy, if you want something enough you can achieve it. This is not suggesting that everyone go and get sponsored for things, it is saying find situations that benefit everyone. For example if your a builder and you find a venue that needs some work doing, offer the work for free in return for some discount. There is always a way to achieve what you desire, just think outside the box. There is no such thing as luck in this world, you have to make your own!
