    Wedding shoes essentials

Many women feel that their wedding day may be the most significant event in their lives.  For such an event, it is certainly natural for them to want to look and feel their very best.

If you are one of these women and planning a wedding, do not underestimate the importance of shoes.  The fact is that shoes can make or break the most glorious outfit, and that includes a wedding dress.

Bridal shoes, by long tradition, are white.  If you’re the untraditional type, of course you can do your own thing, but aside from colour, there are a couple of factors you need to consider in choosing your shoes.  They won’t be the focal point for guests or cameras, but they may very well be for the ones wearing them.  Remember that both bride and bridal party will probably be standing for the entire ceremony, and maybe dancing later, so keep comfort in mind.

Simple is often the best choice, and you cannot go wrong with sleek, unadorned pumps or sandals.  The style you choose should complement your dress, so you will need to decide on the ‘look’ you want, starting with the dress.  You may want a long formal gown, a short trendy frock or just about anything from frothy to tailored.  Once you’ve got the dress in hand, you can start looking for the perfect shoes to complete the total look.

If, like most of us, you have to consider the cost, consider the fact that those perfect wedding shoes may come in very handy on future occasions that are not quite as momentous as your wedding.
