A wedding dress should suit brides personality

One of the great things about styles today is that there really is something for everybody, even in the wedding dress category.  In that particular case, the dress says a lot about a bride’s personality and outlook, so it’s nice to have so many diverse and delightful options – one to fit every body’s shape as well as fashion preferences.

A perfect example of having it all your way is the trendy ‘illusion’ neckline, which takes a daringly plunging neckline and adds an insert of frothy lace or gauzy sheer fabric to create a very romantic, feminine look.  In fact, lace is showing up all over, at hemlines, in sleeves and inserts and overlays, often embellished with sequins or tiny gemstones.

Sleek and slinky is also very in; the silhouette style is extremely flattering and eternally classy, but it does require a silhouette that deserves showing off.  A good alternative that’s also a solid trend this year is the ballroom style gown, perfect for enhancing attributes on top and making bottoms beautiful as they are disguised under swirling tiers or panels of silky fabric.

Styles from the ’50′s are also on trend, and one look is the belted waist that looks just ravishing on the right figure.  Overall, though, it’s your day and your look, so don’t let ephemeral fads lure you into something that’s just not right for you.  Choose a style that complements both your figure and your personality, and you’ll have a memory to revisit and treasure, and no regrets about not looking your most beautiful on the the biggest day of your life.
