Simon Cowell is said to have given his girlfriend Mezhgan Hussainy a diamond ring this Valentine’s Day and possibly maybe even proposed. Maybe despite all of his gruffness Cowell does have a softer romantic side that came out this V-day.
Cowell is said to have proposed marriage over dinner at London’s Mr. Chow and even though he has publicly said in the past that he will never marry, he now claims that since he has found love he is ready to take the plunge.
The engagement ring was said to be quite spectacular and he choose to make the announcement in a public setting where the media was sure to capture it.
Mezhgan is age 36 to Cowell’s 50, and resides in America, although she grew up in Afghanistan. Reportedly the pair met while she was a makeup artist for ‘American Idol.’ The two have been dating for six months.
The ring was said to have been placed on Mezhgan’s hand promptly during the dinner causing the entire restaurant to become alive once the diners released they had witnessed Simon Cowell propose.
It may be some time before the wedding happens however, given the fact that Cowell has become quite busy creating a cover of REM’s ‘Everybody Hurts’ for the Haiti earthquake, working on ‘American Idol,’ and planning to launch ‘The X Factor’ in America.
