As the wedding season begins to move closer into the heat of the summer compareweddinginsurance.org.uk has released new study results that suggest couples tend to underinsure their weddings by around thirty percent.

The average wedding cost for the year period between May of 2009 and April of 2010 was £17,000, but the average couple only purchases wedding policies valued at £12,000 in the case of emergency cancellation.

Founder of the website, Adam Leyton, stated that for a great deal of couples their wedding day will be one of only a few expensive purchases that they ever make together, so while it is great to see couples acting proactively and purchasing insurance they need to consider if they are purchasing enough insurance.

Leyton went on to say that if something occurs that requires a wedding to be cancelled, most couples will probably be surprised to learn they still owe a large amount of money straight out of their pockets even with insurance cover resulting in what is equitably a very high deductible.

There are a handful of reasons that couples may not purchase sufficient insurance cover including the fact that most couples end up going over budget without realizing it or that they are willing to take a gamble on the fact that they will not need full coverage.

Wedding insurance covers not only cancellation, but also can cover anything that goes wrong during, before, or after the wedding is over for example death in the family, serious illness, or a supplier going bankrupt and not being able to offer services that were already paid for.

Katie Price set to marry again, again, OK

Katie Price does not do things half way, in fact the well known perfectionist is more likely to do things twice including her latest wedding to Alex Reid the cage fighter.

The pair first was married in February of this year during a ‘quickie’ Las Vegas ceremony but three months later Price dumped him live on television. However, the pair is set to marry again on July 3^rd allowing their family and friends to attend the ceremony this time around.

So what can guests expect to see at this wedding? The answer is a lot although it will be a bit lower key than Price’s over the top wedding to Peter Andre in 2005. During this wedding Price arrived in a carriage drawn by horses and dressed in an ornate pink gown valued at £20,000 finished off by a tiara.

For this wedding, Price sold the photo rights to OK magazine for £1.75m but since the rights to this wedding have not been sold it is safe to say that it probably will not be quite the same OTT affair.

According to rumours, guests will get to see the bride in a gown from Doly, the London boutique, which should have cost her a pretty penny but she is said to have gotten free makeup and hair which should help compensate.

Price is said to have purchased plenty of alcohol from wholesalers as well and even written out her own wedding invitations showing that she has tried to pinch a few pennies this time around. Of course, given it’s her third wedding perhaps she has just gotten a bit smarter about the high costs of fairy tale weddings.

Huge Royal wedding in Sweden

Sweden has hosted the largest royal wedding since Di and Charles, with Crown Princess Victoria marrying Daniel Westling. The marriage was a true love match that made it despite the fact that King Carl XVI Gustaf was horrified that his daughter wanted to marry her fitness trainer.

The Swedish public did not respond so negatively however, with a growing number of people questioning how relevant the monarchy is in modern society. The marriage took place this past Saturday in Stockholm’s Storkykran Cathedral in the late afternoon.

In order to make the day perfectly majestic, the Swedish Royal Family invited a large array of world royalty to honor the marriage of their daughter to Westling who will now become known as HRH Prince Daniel the Duke of Vastergotland.

As the couple stood that the Cathedral altar, which is where the Princess’ parents were married, Victoria was dressed in short sleeves that were set of the shoulder and a gown made out of ivory silk.

The Prince also looked perfectly groomed which is a large improvement over the scruffy man seen in the Swedish newspapers when it was discovered that the Crown Princess was dating him.

Prince Edward and his wife Countess Sophie represented the British royal family with other royals in attendance including Prince Consort Henrik and Queen Margrethe of Denmark, Princes Martha Louise of Norway and her husband Ari Behn, and Victoria’s sister Princess Madeleine of Sweden.

Celebrations of the wedding will last for several days including a lunch at the City Hall of Stockholm, a private dinner at Drottningholm Palace, and a gala held at the City Concert Hall.

It also believes that that the newlyweds likely will leave the cathedral in a Volvo instead of inside a BMW or Porsche, even in the face of reports that they will jump on a horse drawn carriage.

Unibet, another website for casting bets predicts there is a fifty-fifty chance of sun versus rain on the day while Bettson believes rain is more likely. The Swedish Meteorological Institute predicts that the weather may be windy with a temp of about 17C on Saturday.

Think about taking your sweetheart out for the evening, to dinner or a film, anywhere where a pre-planned phone call from a friend will come at an agreed upon time.

Act like it’s an emergency, grab her (or his) hand and lead your ‘prospect’ out of the theatre/restaurant/wherever.

At the appropriate time (when he or she is asking what on earth is wrong) drop to your knees, ring in hand, and say, “I need you to marry me”, or any variation of the theme you prefer. This can be done with or without bystanders, by the way.
