A major European row wedding has been cancelled following revelations from a Bournemouth student that she had a one night stand with Jonas Bergstrom who was the fiancé of Sweden’s Princess Madeleine.
The 31-year-old Bergstrom is said to have had the fling with a 21-year-old student from the Arts University College, Tora Uppstrom Berg. The alleged encounter was said to have happened at an up market Swedish ski resort nightclub.
Miss Uppstrom Berg has subsequently told all to Se Og Hor, a Swedish ‘Hello’ type magazine. Following this the 27-year-old Princess Madeleine quickly cancelled the wedding plans, which had followed an eight year romance with Bergstrom.
Uppstrom Berg had previously been a handball star on the Norwegian team before becoming a student in the UK. She said in a magazine that she and the Royal Yonsei had left a nightclub in a taxi at four in the morning and that they had been intimate and that she had not known who he was.
She went on to say that if she had known that he was engaged, especially to a member of the Swedish royal family she would never have agreed to the encounter. The young Swedish royals are not exactly strangers to controversy as her brother Prince Carl Philip is currently dating a reality TV show star who is known for her modelling and topless appearances.
The whole country was already giving up for the Royal wedding so this news comes as a great shock to the nation. It is sad that the Princess has run away to New York to avoid the publicity storm in her home country.
